JOY RIDE

"hey it's that vespa woman..."
another vespa pic.  cuz vespas are cool.
i started this one up about a year ago - never got around to finishing for lots of reasons until just now.

originally the plan was for her to be a witch??  with like, candy and stuff coming out the back (hey, it was getting close to halloween)???  typing it out makes the idea sound incredibly lame to me now...  but i swear the image in my head looked cool. haha.

got 'the making of' on me tumblr.
not trying to be all "look how cool i am" or anything.  honestly, i just like seeing other people's process, so i figure i'd better start sharing some of my own.  cool?  cool.
coolcoolcool.

¡ MARIACHI-DACHI !

MARIACHI-DACHI IS ALMOST READY!!!  all pages = DONE.  proofing = ALMOST DONE (book's looking good!!  feels nice to actually HOLD THE BOOK IN MY HANDZZ!!!  just had to make some minor adjustments, surprisingly.)  should be ready on Amazon in just a few weeks - to celebrate my excitement, HERE'S THE COVERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YEAH!!!  haha.

also, got meself a shiny newTUMBLR account.  you can see the process of making the cover over there.  figured i'd put more random sketchy/process/whatever type stuff up over there.  more of a mass picture sharing tool, than a picture and lots of words sharing tool.  hey blogger, don't worry - we still cool.

THANK YOU!

hey DOODZ!  me and Stephanie thought it would be cool to make a thank you card for all the peeps that showered gifts upon us at our wedding reception and stuff.  so here it is!  colors by me, lines by her.
i think we make a pretty good team.    heh heh..
now all we gotta do is finish addressing all these thingzzzzz...    :]
anyways, thanks 'er body!!!

just gettin' warmed up!!

i imagine that's what this guy says, right after getting his face smashed in HARD a couple of times.  a little warm up before doing an art test for an animation studio.

here's the test.  fun times!

lots of stuff has been happening/has happened.  married and living in california now.  also i made a comic book.  i'll show you it sometime.  fun times!

THUG BOT

messin' around with a sketch i did in a meeting..  was just gonna add some subtle shadows to a white background or something, and ended up taking it a little further.

more importantly, CHECK THIS OUT:

some RAAAAAD Zelda action going on.  like some nice bass?  how about mystical guitars?  hidden fairy fountains!? if you answered yes to any of these questions, you owe it to yourself to have a listen.

100th POST!? Bof...

for a little exercise at work a while back that i touched up just a little bit today.  goal was to do a mash-up of random "cold" themed pictures we had, in whatever way you were inspired to.  tried out some good brushes at the same time (the oil brushes were especially good.)

also, here's a french dude i doodled in a meeting.  gotta love the french.  they kind of make THE BEST comic books i've ever seen..

also...  kind of obsessed with this song by imagine dragons... you might think i was unhealthy if i revealed how many times i've listened to this song in the past few days.....
heh heh..

updaytzzz

hey doodz.  got some sketchery and doodle-ation goin' on i figured i'd post.  these guys can be found under the sketches section on my new and improved PORTFOLIO BLOG!!! (link also in top right corner.  neat huh?)  if you've got anything to say about the portfolio blog, i 'd love to hear it - kinda thought it was cool myself that you can look at EVERYTHING without clicking on a single tab or link or whatever.  but yeah, sending out applications for jorbs and all that - it's time to move on!!!

on the music side, been making some playlists i can just cycle through at work...  got about 20 Atmosphere songs i've had on repeat for a few weeks straight now.  figured i'd share some.  you can't really top sincerity, in drawing or music (or anything else) and these songs are packed with it.  don't know many other rappers who do it quite like Slug (he just might be my favorite) even some of the more dark stuff he does can still strike a chord because of how SINCERE this dood can get.  match that with Ant's sick production abilities (coincidentally probably my favorite producer too)  and you get some REALLY good music.  these are some of the more positive one's (to me) that hit hard.
Yesterday
Little Man
My Notes
Get Fly  (LOVE the outro.......)

and this NEXT ONE is just too good.  while going to school, i ran into quite a few people not from Utah who were always quick to drop judgement on the state and generalize the entire inhabitants - so this one i kinda feel is like a nice burn on people like that..  heh.
Say Shh

also real quick - check out ANTLER BOY AND OTHER STORIES on kickstarter!!  my drawing sensei from about a year and a half ago is KILLING it over there.  like comics/cool stories/rad stuff in general????????????????  i do.  totally getting the book.
